List of the mosques and Islamic religious schools destroyed in Meiktila

M-Media confirms that the following mosques and schools were destroyed by Buddhist rioters.  There are 20,500 refugees at different location in Meiktila. M-Media estimates that the violence  has cost 160 lives (130 Muslims and 30 Buddhists)

1. Jamae’ Mosque (Ashaepyin Quarter, Located at the west of Bazaar)

2. Bengali Mosque (Located at Yadanar Maung Quarter)

3. Nyein Chan Yay Mosque (Located at Yadanar Maung Quarter)

4.Turkish Mosque (Located at Yadanar Maung Quarter, Tat Nae, Military ground)

5. Myoma Mosque (Located at Yadanar Maung Quarter)

6. Hmanlone Mosque (a) Thiri Mingalar (Ka Gyi) Mosque (Located at Thiri Mingalar Quarter)

7. Pakistan Mosque (Located at Thiri Mingalar Quarter)

8. Myo Oo Mosque (Located at Aung Zayyar Quarter)

9. Nandawgone Mosque and Arabic Institute (Located at Nandawgone Quarter)

10. Tharyargone Mosque (Located at Nandawgone Quarter)

11. Chan Aye Tharyar Mosque (Located at Chan Aye Tharyar Quarter)

12. Pyi Tharyar (south) and Pyi Tharyar (north), Places of Worship (Located at Pyi Tharyar Expanded Quarter)

13. Mingalar Zayyone Mosque  (Located at Mingalar Zayyone Quarter)

14. Arabia Mudia School (Located at Thiri Mingalar Quarter)

15. Azizia Arabic Institute (Located at Nandawgone Quarter)

16. Arabi High School (Located at Mingalar Zayyone Quarter)

 

Number of Muslim Refugees

1. About 6,000 (District Stadium Refugees Camp)

2. About 8,000 (No.1 Police Station High School)

3. About 3,000 (Pyi Tharyar – Shan Tae High School, close to Army aviation base)

4. About 3,500 – (fled to nearby villages and Mandalay)

 

Number of deaths

1. About 130 (Muslims – 40 people can be identified and the others)

2. About 30 (Buddhists)
