Leading Myanmar Muslim group sends aid to civil war victims

National Islamic Organization of Myanmar has sent emergency aid for the people who are displaced during recent armed conflicts in Shan State on 23rd November.

12-wheels truck loaded with cloths, instant foods, beds, kitchenware and other necessary materials for displaced persons drove from Yangon to Lashio and arrived on 26th November.

Thousands of people have fled from their homes since the fighting between government force and ethnic Shan armed group has started in early November. Some of the affected people are sheltering in Mansu
Shan Monastery in Lashio.

Dr. U Tin Aung, representative from National Islamic Organization of Myanmar has delivered this emergency aid to Man Su Sayardaw, an abbot of the monastery. In this activity for their fellow citizens, donations from country’s Muslim individuals and Muslim businessmen are included.

By participating in relief missions and giving their hand to affected victims, National Islamic Organization of Myanmar was also active in flooding disaster that was hit across the country in mid-August.
