It is reported that the order of the municipal committee to denude the historic Lin Zin Gone Cemetery in Amarapura, Mandalay Region was halted. It was permitted to be kept.

Since over one year ago, when the municipal authorities announced to remove it, there has been official requests in order to conserve the historic cemetery and shrines. However, as the order was released again by previous month, Muslims were disconsolate and attempted to negotiate with authorities not to implement it.

Recently, U Thein Win Aung, a leader of Islamic Sufi order (KAFTG) in Mandalay, met with U Aung Min and U Soe Thein, who both are ministers of the president office in an interfaith forum. He explained about the historic cemetery there. He also sent officially a request letter to the president U Thein Sein. Now, an official reply allowing to maintain the cemetery and buildings have been received.

More complete information will be reported after contacting to U Thein Win Aung.
