– Myanmar’s ultra-nationalist group led by some Buddhist monks held a ‘No Rohingya Protest’ at the Thilawa port of commercial capital Yangon where aid flotilla from Malaysia carrying emergency supplies for Rakhine State set to arrive this evening.

Organized by Nationalist Coalition Group, hundreds of people were participated in this afternoon protest – some are holding posters described as “No Rohingya – They are Bengalis. We do not allow the word Rohingya. They are not our nationalities. They are from Bangladesh” and some are waving National Flags and Buddhist Flags.

Rohingya Muslims, mostly living in Rakhine State, have been denied citizenship  despite they have been residing there for generations.

Nationalist Coalition Group is notorious for disturbing Muslim ceremonies marking Prophet Muhammad Birthday. Last month alone, they blocked at least two events in Yangon and Pyae.
